Tanny joined the family business in 1987 and was named to her current role in 2003. As president and CEO, she provides the company with overall strategic direction and leadership development.
She is an avid supporter of the Crane on Board program, serving on many local boards, including Wendy’s International, Columbus Foundation, Columbus City School Foundation, Columbus Partnership, and Fisher College of Business Advisory Board. She also currently serves as chair on the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank board. In the past, she has served as board chair and campaign chair of the United Way of Central Ohio, and has served on the board of Action for Children.
Tanny is a graduate of The Ohio State University. She also earned an M.B.A. from Northwestern University.
Mike Crane
President, The Crane Group Companies
Mike joined Crane Group in 1989 as general counsel and was named to his current role in 2007. As president, Mike manages Crane Group’s operating business units.
He is an active corporate volunteer, serving on the boards of several local organizations, including the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, Capital University, the Columbus Academy, and the US Bank Advisory Board (Columbus). He is also a past president of the Buckeye Ranch Foundation.
He is a graduate of Harvard College and The Ohio State University College of Law.
Randy J. Fortener
President, Crane Investment Company
Randy joined Crane Group in 1990 and was named to his current role in 2007. As president, he directs all investment and acquisition activity for the company. He currently holds leadership positions within the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). He also serves on the board of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
Randy is a graduate of the University of Findlay, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Dayton.
Jay Crane
Senior Vice President, Crane Investment Company
Jay Crane joined the family business in 1973 and was named to his current role in 1988. As senior vice president, investments, he manages and diversifies Crane Group’s investment portfolio, making equity investments as well as choosing money managers for both his family and the company.
He is heavily involved in the Crane on Board program and currently serves on a number of local boards, including the Dorothy E. Ann Fund (DEAF) at the Columbus Foundation and the President’s Club at The Ohio State University. He is also a former chairman of the Board of Deaf Services Center of Columbus.
Jay attended Ohio University, where he studied business administration.
Timothy T. Miller, C.P.A., J.D. Vice President and General Counsel, Crane Group
Tim was named to his current title in 2007, after having served as general counsel for Crane Group for the previous 10 years. In this position, he serves as chief legal officer for the Crane Group. He has been with the company since 1992.
He currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the Omicron Alumni Association, the Community Shelter Board, and the United Way of Central Ohio. He also serves on the Steering Committee for the Rebuilding Lives Updated Strategy Task Force and the Homelessness Prevention Pilot Community Advisory Committee. He is a past board member of Faith Mission and Contemporary American Theatre Company (CATCO).
Tim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Bar Association, Ohio Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and Chicago Bar Association. He earned his bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, Champaign, in 1980 and a law degree from Loyola University, Chicago, in 1987.
Stu Kemper
President, Crane Building Products
Stu joined Crane Group in 1993 and was named to his current position in 2007. As president, he manages a portfolio of six building-related businesses for the company. He serves on several local boards, including the Ohio University Executive Advisory Board and Franklin County Residential Services Board of Directors. He’s also actively involved in the Crane on Board program and volunteers for Ohio Reads, Project Mentor, and United Way, and is a mentor and coach for M.B.A. students at both Franklin University and Ohio University.
Stu is a graduate of Ohio University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and served as a corporate leadership fellow. He also earned an M.B.A. from Capital University.
Art Dierks
President, Crane Fencing Solutions
Art joined Crane Group in 2000 and was named to his current role in 2007. As president, he oversees day-to-day operations of the company. He is actively involved in the Crane on Board program, serving as a member of the Clinton County United Way Board for the past five years and the Orion Board. He is also past chairman of the Clinton County Day of Caring and was charter president of the Southwestern Ohio Society for HR.
Art is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
James E. Ziminski
President, Crane Performance Siding
Jim joined Crane Performance Siding in 2000 as vice president of sales and marketing and was named to his current position in 2003. He is deeply involved within his industry, and will serve as vice chair of the VSI Board of Directors beginning January 2008. He previously served as chair of VSI’s Steering Committee and Certified Installer Oversight Committee, and co-chair of America Sides with Vinyl. He is also an active participant in the Crane on Board program, serving as a board member of the Crittendon Community School, and mentor in the Columbus Public Schools.
Jim is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
Tim Tait
President, Crane Plastics
Tim joined Crane Group in 2003 and was named president of Crane Plastics in 2007. As president of Crane Plastics, he is responsible for managing the company’s growth and profitability. He is active in the Crane on Board program, serving as a member of the Columbus Urban League’s Board of Directors.
Tim is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business and economics. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.
George Liu
President, EverMark
George is the founder of Evermark and has remained as president since January 2004, when the company joined Crane Group. He sets the vision and strategy for the company, and oversees other areas of the business.
He serves on the board of Century National Bank, and spends the rest of his volunteer time supporting various educational efforts, including a role on a local school board, and as a financial sponsor of kids who otherwise could not attend the national Academic Games.
George earned his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech in 1988, and his M.B.A. in finance from Georgia State University.
Tom Gramlich
President, TimberTech
Tom joined Crane Group in 2001 and was named to his current position in 2007. As TimberTech’s president, Tom provides strategic direction for all aspects of the company.
He is active in the Crane on Board program, serving as a United Way chair and board member.
He has also led the finance committee at Seton Parish for the past 13 years.
Tom is a graduate of The Ohio State University and a certified public accountant.
Dan Carter
President, Able Roofing
Dan joined Crane Plastics in 1984 and was named to his current role in 2002. As president, he provides leadership for the sustained growth of Able Roofing and Mr. Roof.
He holds a leadership position in the National Roofing Contractors Association and participates in the Crane on Board program as a member of the Gahanna-Jefferson Business Advisory Council. He is also an active community volunteer for Gahanna Junior League Sports, Gahanna-Jefferson schools, St. Matthews Church, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the United Way.
Dan is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance.
Daniel L. Floyd
President and CEO, Signature Control Group
Dan founded Signature Control Group’s five business units in 1987. He began working with Crane Group in 1999 and is a member of the International Parking Institute and National Parking Association.
Dan is active on several local charity boards, including the United Leukodystrophy Foundation and Meals on Wheels. He also serves as secretary and treasurer for the Gahanna Rotary Club.
Dan attended The Ohio State University.
Mark DeBellis
President, Suburban Steel
Mark joined Crane Group in 1983 and was named to his current role in 1998. As president, he provides strategic leadership and direction for the company’s sustained growth and financial success. He also serves as president of the Ohio Structural Steel Association.
Mark is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Dayton.
John Irvine
President, Crane Materials International
John has managed the development and marketing of vinyl sheet piling for seawalls since 1989. His company, Materials International, which he founded in 1989, merged with Crane Group in 2003 and currently holds 15 patents for products sold in 56 countries.
John is a graduate of Miami University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in applied science and manufacturing engineering.
